The 2005 edition of the Biennale was the largest since its inception, with participants from 80 countries and 768 participating artists.

This year, these were the Swedes who took part: Markus Andersson, Monica Berggren, Karin Bjõrklund, Ofelia Crédon, Anna Dellermalm, Kerstin Dufvander Knutsson, Britt Ericsson, Anna Cristina Eriksson, Kate Hellqvist, Marie Henriksson, Himmelström Jankowitz Michelly Leonardo Picassio, Ann - Louise Järvklo, Hans Johansson, Birgitta Karlsson, Stig Lindberg, Tage Lundin, Kajsa Nord, Jukka Nystöm, Martin Jan Ogrodnik, Gunilla Oldenburg, Csilla Patachich, Gunilla Rentzing, Ola Rosling, Mary Segerfalk, Sigrid Sennström, Richard Solstjärna, Tina Stjärnvinge, Ann Margret Wagner-Sjöberg, Kjell Wallman, Monika Juliette Wally, Sonia Viktoria Wann, Ingela Warberg, Ulf Westman, Linda Wiktorsson & Gunilla Wirfelt.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude and Richard Anuszkiewicz, was awarded this year with the "Lorenzo il Magnifico" - for their achievements and careers. Christo and Jeanne-Claude themselves took part in the Biennale and had a seminar which involved a number of their projects.

Even Richard Anuszkiewicz exhibited his art during this fifth edition of the Biennale. He showed his main areas of his career, as illustrator and inventor of optical art.

This year was also Harley-Davidson awarded with the prestigious "Lorenzo il Magnifico", for its refined design and its ability to spread the joy of driving a motorcycle and for the constant development in technology in one of the most modern expressions of life.
